”So you too, must keep watch! For you don’t know what day your Lord is coming.” Matthew 24:42 NLT
Blowing of the Trumpets (Shofars)
This coincides with the Feast of the Trumpets in Israel, preceding the Days of Awe, which flow into the Feast of Tabernacles.
The Days of Awe also correspond with our dates for the Solemn Assembly, and it is hoped there will be some form of celebration happening around the city of Hamilton during the Feast of Tabernacles.
The sounds are :
Tekiah: the “blast” – one long blast with a clear tone
Shevarim: a “broken” sighing sound of three short calls
Teruah : the “alarm” a rapid series of nine or more very short notes
Tekiah Gedolah: “the great Tekiah” a single unbroken blast, held as long as possible.
Rosh Hashanah traditionally commemorates the creation of the world. The God looked over all He had made and he saw it was very good. Gen1:31NLT
It is a time to reflect on God as King and Judge over all living things.
Awake and repent, prepare your hearts for His coming.
